Matt and Joanna Black.

Matt and Joanna Black are a married folk-rock duo from Elizabethtown, KY. They have been sharing their music and serving together since before they married in 2000. Since that time they have helped many people encounter Jesus through retreats, conferences, concerts, and other events where they have used music to lead in worship and discipleship.

Matt and Joanna call themselves in(ter)dependent artists. They raise their own support and are funded by people and churches through their ministry, Sweet Communion Music. They are musicianaries committed to reaching outside of church walls with the Gospel through music.

They have released three albums, Sweet Communion (2003), Unless the Lord (2005), Antiques Pt. 1 (2010), as well as a few digital single releases. In 2013 Matt recorded and co-produced, Beloved, a duet album featuring singer-songwriter Lyndsay Taylor and Joanna.

They are currently wrapping up a Gospel music CD project with young-adult Haitian artists at the recording studio on the campus of Baptist Haiti Mission in Fermathe, Haiti. The purpose of the project is to help spread the Gospel through music in Haiti and to raise funds for the recording ministry there.
