lavi means life!
Matt and Joanna are currently booking a multi-media concert that shares the story about the creation of Mwen Sove. Their hope is to encourage your church body to consider how they can use their unique gifts to be involved in missions at home and around the world.
In 2016 Matt and Joanna went to Haiti on a musical mission trip with their two daughters to help produce a recording at the studio on the beautiful mountain-nestled campus of the Baptist Haiti Mission in Fermathe, Haiti.
Their goal was to teach recording techniques and produce a simple CD that would share the Gospel through original Haitian music.
When they arrived they learned that their studio contact, Ilbath Deshomme, had bigger plans in mind. He assembled an incredible team of musicians and singers, and wanted to produce videos to help carry the messages of these songs throughout Haiti and to the world.
What started as a hope to teach and complete a simple 10 day recording became a peer-to-peer musical collaboration with some of the most talented and determined artists we’ve ever met. They took the lead in songwriting, composition and mixing tracks.
Two years later (Spring 2018), Mwen Sove is finally here!
This album is full of energy, life, and hope that comes from Jesus! Lavi will give you a different perspective on the people of Haiti and how God is moving through His people there. Pray that the Gospel message connects with those who need to know Jesus love in Haiti through these well-crafted Haitian pop songs.
Mwen Sove (I’m Saved) is the first album of the Haiti Gospel Music Project. Proceeds from this album will go towards the development and discipleship of Gospel music artists in Haiti.
